Phonographic Performance Company of Australia

PPCA (the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia) is a national, non-profit organisation that represents the interests of Australian recording artists and record companies.

We grant non-exclusive licences for the broadcast, communication and public playing of recorded music (e.g. CDs, tapes, records, digital downloads), music videos and telephone music on hold. We currently license over 45,000 venues Australia-wide, including clubs, shops, hotels, bars, restaurants and cafes, as well as radio and television stations.

Each year PPCA distributes the net licence fees, less administration expenses, to the copyright owners, usually a record company, registered Australian recording artists and to a trust fund which distributes grants for the encouragement of music and performing arts.
